SERVICE LINE INVENTORY

If you see an individual looking at your water meter over the next few weeks, please don’t be alarmed. They are part of Camrosa’s service line material inventory team.

Federal law (40 CFR 141.80) requires Camrosa to complete a service line inventory by October 16, 2024. Camrosa is working to complete this service line materials inventory throughout the district. Camrosa was able to verify many of the service lines in the district through existing records, however some service lines do not have this information recorded. Camrosa is required to complete a sampling plan for service lines without existing materials records. The sampling plan involves compiling a list of randomly selected addresses to verify on-site, verifying the service line materials at the meter box, recording the results, and then submitting the completed inventory to the California Division of Drinking Water.

Camrosa is verifying service line materials at the meter box because this is the most efficient way to complete this work, and the least inconvenient to the customer: it’s very similar to reading a meter in-person “by hand.” Camrosa’s sampling plan was approved by the California Division of Drinking Water, and Camrosa contracted with Travis Agricultural Construction Inc. (“Travis Ag”) to perform the verification work throughout the district. Travis Ag is working to complete this work throughout the District during the months of July and August.
